CALGARY MARLBOROUGH EMERGENCY CATWALK - MONDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2017

On Sunday, October 29, police were called about suspicious vehicles and gunshots on a residential street in Marlborough. When they arrived, the vehicles had already left, but bullet casings were found in the area. 12CSI's Community Action Team worked with the Calgary Marlborough Community Association (CMCA) to organize an Emergency CATWalk through the neighbourhood the very next night. Joined by a representative of the Calgary Police Service, about 16 volunteers from CMCA and 12CSI walked along the streets around the area, spoke to residents, and handed out calendars from the community association.

CALGARY MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS FORUMS 2017

12CSI hosted a series of free forums in support of the 2017 Calgary Municipal Elections. Each of these sessions brought together candidates and voters for an opportunity to learn more about the platforms and issues that were important to the decision-making process.

We started with a educational workshop on the whole voting process for anyone that was new to the whys and hows of voting. See our videos below to find out more.

All of the candidates in each of the Ward 9, Ward 10, School Board Trustee, and Mayoral races were invited to attend their session, and we offered all of the forums for free to the public. This distinguished our forums from many others that were held with limited invited candidates or ticketing requirements.
